Featured artist and sculptor, Michelle O'Michael, works in metal and steel. She lives and works in Houston, TX.

Ms. O'Michael's works are in many private and corporate collections. Many of the pieces are site specific, larger than life incorporating all the aspects of mass, form, weight, technical know-how and beauty.

Beauty standing alone. Beauty in the surroundings. Beauty in the cast shadows. An interplay of space and light.

The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is accepting applications

Deadline: October 15, 2010

Join us in celebrating our 6th year of bringing fine arts to The Woodlands, Texas. We jury in 200 national and regional artists who sell their original creations along a landscaped path beside the waterway that runs through The Woodlands Town Center from The Marriott Waterway Hotel and Convention Center past The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and Town Green Park.

The Woodlands is a master-planned community, home to 90,000 people and over 4,000 businesses. The Woodlands Town Center is a regional draw for more than 1 million people located North of Houston in South Montgomery County.

Average artist’s weekend sales figure in 2010-- $4,375! (up $995 over 2009)
Over 15,000 art patrons visited our festival in 2010
The Woodlands offers 460 world-class shops, including world renowned department stores, specialty shops and unique boutiques
150 area restaurants such as Jaspers, Freebirds Hubble and Hudson and Pf Changs.

VIP Art Dash Event
We invite all participating artists to become a 'VIP' Artist by donating a work of art valued at $150 or more to The 2011 Friday Evening VIP Art Dash Event held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel. Your generous donation will be included in an exciting 60 second ART DASH which benefits our student art scholarships and educational outreach programs.

* As a donor, you and one guest will have complimentary tickets to the party that includes fabulous entertainment and food.
* You will have a prime opportunity to mix and mingle with our community leaders and art patrons.
* Your work will be highlighted on our festival website.

I have no suggestions .I deeply appreciate all that your staff and volunteers do on our behalf. The venue is beautiful and the guests most gracious. Best of Show & Featured Artist
On the opening day of the festival, judges will score in two areas; the quality of your work and your booth presentation. The Featured Artist will receive a complimentary 3 night stay at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, a free double 4 booth for the following year, and the privilege of having their art featured on all promotional materials. The Best of Show Artists receive a free single booth space for the use in the following year with priority booth placement and will have an enhanced presence on our website. All award winners will be jury exempt for two years; no jury fee--no jury process! The complete awards package is estimated at over $8,000. Promotional considerations are priceless!
